Spyglass is one of my favorite courses. The front 9 feels like Pebble Beach and the back 9 feels like Augusta.

Stunning course with a challenging layout, wide long fairways and tight greens that require good calibration. The views and the scenery are absolutely amazing and refreshing, the fauna and the ocean noise add extra to the experience. Well maintained grounds throughout the course, friendly and knowledge staff. I definitely recommend it, a bliss from the first to the last hole.

I played here two days ago. Wonderful golf course. Parking can get a little tricky. Only real knock on the experience was price gouging on the carts. I played as part of an NCGA tournament. The information we were given stated the price of carts as $50/rider. I was the only rider yet I was told I had to pay a total of $110 for the cart. When I asked about it I was told that the carts were only being rented as a unit that day and I had no option to only pay for my seat in the cart.(my playing partner wished to walk) I was also told that this would be the policy the following day at Poppy Hills, which was a lie because I was able to pay a single rider fee the following day. I assume the staff member who checked me in was either misinformed or intentionally taking advantage of me. Either way, this is poor form and really took away from the experience. Thankfully this establishment did not get any more of our money that day. I would love to play here again someday, but I won’t be spending money to do it.

UPDATE: Spyglass range has been redone. My favorite course to play. Range has mats but good enough to warm-up. Great grill across the street from Pro shop. Caddies not required but helpful. Great staff and Excellent service. Spyglass is harder to play then Pebble My 3 rules for Spy: - Ball drifts towards the water, just like Pebble and Spanish Bay. - Utilize gravity, let the ball roll to the hole and always stay low to the pin. Too high a lie adds 2 or 3 strokes. Always approach greens, this applies to Pebble, Spanish Bay and Del Monte. - Grass around the fringe of the green will stop your ball if it's long. Pop it onto the green otherwise you add another stroke. I don't walk Spy, too hilly. 4.5 hours is usual time to play this course Bunkers are deep especially on #3 and fairways are tighter then Pebble. If you 3 putt, pull your ball. Don't be the person to slow the course down

Awesome golf course in a nice setting. Helpful staff. If you are looking for a Tee time or just want to spend sometime in the range, this is the place to be. With Deers is the background and trees it is a relaxing atmosphere. The staff is really helpful and they go above and beyond to to make your stay comfortable.
